In the village of Borceag, Cahul district, we have discovered the first local fruit producer for the PRODUS ACASĂ campaign, namely the company “Braila Fruits”. Ripe, juicy fruits reminding of the scent of orchards and summer vacations spent with grandparents – this is the Moldovan fruits grown lovingly by our farmers and carefully arranged on the shelves of Linella stores, from apricots, peaches and nectarines to plums, sweet cherries, cherries or table grapes.

“Everyone asks us about the secret of our fruits”, Dumitru Brăilă, local fruit producer, says. “I believe that the secret lies in our passion for 100% Moldovan fruits, in the Moldovan varieties we have grown to love from childhood, natural fertilizers, favorable natural conditions, people’s care and investments in the state-of-the-art technology”.

“Braila Fruits” has been producing fruits for 10 years. At first, they were intended for export only. Then, understanding that the value of a fruit is its quality and that you cannot neglect the taste of the product in favor of its appearance, the company has oriented towards the local market as well. One of the advantages of local distribution is that fruits are harvested when they are fully ripe, thus keeping the taste and flavor of products unaffected.

“We start our morning by going out in the field, we check fruits, if they are ripe, ready to be picked and we start working. At the end of the day, the fruits picked this day are delivered to the cold storage. Later, they are delivered to Moldovan stores and, only in the case of larger quantities, the fruits also go for export,” Dumitru Brăilă says.

The fruits arrive in Linella stores within 48 hours. Thanks to the state-of-the-art technology based on cells with a controlled atmosphere for fruit cooling, the fruit freshness and flavor remain unaffected, and fruits have a longer shelf life.

“Collaboration with Linella is very important for us, because we take great pains for these fruits to finally reach the shelves of Moldovan stores. Due to this collaboration, our products reach hundreds and thousands of people. Together we manage to offer Moldovans the opportunity to consume naturally grown fruits”.
