Description

The orchid is a plant that can be grown easily even by beginners. It requires minimal care and remains in bloom for several weeks. How do we water orchids correctly? Wetting the substrate is done in moderation, taking care to ensure a very good drainage of it. Also, watering orchids will be more frequent during the warm season of active growth and flowering and less frequent during the winter and the period of relative rest. The ideal way to water orchids is by immersing the pot in a bowl of water for about 20 minutes (without the water touching the leaves). Thus, the plant will accumulate enough water for a week. Avoid keeping the pots in water for a long time, to avoid rotting of the roots. Always use water at room temperature - not too cold, but not hot either. The water must never reach the center of the plant (then crown rot can occur). Water the plant in the morning so that the excess water has time to evaporate before it gets dark. If the water stays on the plants overnight, it can cause rot or diseases. It is recommended to wash the leaves from time to time with a damp cloth.
