Agatha Christie
London: The Crime Club by Collins, 1939.
First edition of the best-selling mystery novel of all time and Christie’s personal favorite of all of her novels, released subsequently in the United States as And Then There Were None and so titled in all successive reprints. Octavo, original cloth. Very good in the rare original dust jacket with some expert restoration. Scarce and desirable.
The world's best-selling mystery and one of the best-selling books of all time, Christie's Ten Little Niggers was first published in the United Kingdom by the Collins Crime Club on November 6, 1939 and was subsequently released in the United States in January 1940 with the title And Then There Were None, which would serve as the works title in all subsequent printings. The book has sold over 100 million copies and has had more adaptations than any other Christie title, including the 1943 play adapted and produced by Christie herself and the 1945 film adaptation directed by Rene Clair.
