What is more important in the composition of this oil is the very high percentage of the so-called linoleic acid (essential fatty acid) in a proportion of over 50% and linolenic acid about 2%, as well as essential fatty acid. In all other edible oils, the essential fatty acids are less than half of the mentioned concentration. In olive and sunflower oil the predominant is oleic acid (over 50%).
Corn oil also has, like sea buckthorn oil, high concentrations (around 10%) of palmitic acid, which supports it as a very good dermoregenerator for cosmetics. The content of oleic acid is around 20%, and other fatty acids in the composition are in very low concentrations in favor of those mentioned, around 1% and below 1%.
